Interiors shaped
around real life.

Soft&Co. is a Cape Town furniture and interior design studio led by Brenda Hart, Managing Director and Interior Designer.

Brenda creates and curates bespoke furniture and interiors that bring elegance, comfort and personal meaning together. Her approach combines contemporary style with timeless appeal, drawing inspiration from nature, global travel, art and the tactile beauty of materials.

From a single statement piece to an entire home, she takes time to understand how you live and what matters to you, shaping spaces that feel authentic, welcoming and distinctly yours.

“As a team, we are striving to create spaces that inspire and uplift those who experience them. My work is driven by a passion for creating beautiful, functional interiors that reflect the unique stories of my clients.”

Why bespoke

Made for your space. Considered for your life.

01

Inspired by nature and art

Organic forms, global travel and artistic expression inform furniture and interiors with their own character, shaped around the people who live with them.

02

Comfort without compromise

A beautiful interior should work for everyday life. Comfort, practicality and the way you use your space guide the design alongside its appearance.

03

Considered craftsmanship

Materials are selected for their beauty, durability and character, with careful attention to the details that make furniture rewarding to live with over time.

The design experience

From our first conversation to your final walkthrough.

A collaborative process shaped around your vision, your daily life and the space you want to create. Brenda and the Soft&Co. team guide you through each stage, with clear opportunities to contribute and refine the direction.

01 / Initial consultation

Your vision, lifestyle, budget and aesthetic.

Every project begins with a conversation. Brenda takes time to understand your vision, lifestyle, budget and personal aesthetic. You can share your inspirations while she assesses the scope of the project and establishes a shared direction before work begins.

02 / Onboarding and discovery

The routines, preferences and practical needs behind the brief.

Once the project is underway, the discovery phase explores your daily routines, material preferences and functional needs in greater detail. These insights form a client profile that guides the design decisions throughout the project.

03 / Concept and design development

A design direction developed and refined together.

Brenda develops a cohesive concept through mood boards, colour palettes, layouts and bespoke furniture options. The proposals are presented for your feedback, with materials and design choices refined together until the direction reflects your brief.

04 / Sourcing and craftsmanship

Materials and furniture brought together under Brenda’s direction.

With the design approved, the team begins sourcing materials and coordinating the creation of bespoke furniture. Brenda oversees the work, maintaining attention to quality, appearance and comfort as the design takes shape.

05 / Installation and styling

Delivery, placement and the finishing details.

Brenda and her team manage the delivery and installation of furniture and décor. Each piece is placed with intention, with styling that connects the individual elements and supports the way you use the space.

06 / Final walkthrough

A personal review of the completed space.

Once installation is complete, Brenda takes you through the finished space. This is an opportunity to review the details together and ensure that the result reflects the agreed vision.

Before we begin

A few things you might be wondering.

How long does a design project take?

Timelines depend on the scope and complexity of the project. As a guide, allow approximately six to ten weeks for a single-room transformation, while a full home may take several months. Brenda will discuss a realistic programme for your particular brief during the initial consultation.

Do I need to know exactly what I want before getting in touch?

No. You may have a clear direction, a collection of references or simply a sense of how you want your home to feel. The consultation and discovery process helps Brenda understand that starting point and develop it into a considered design.

Can Brenda work with furniture I already own?

Yes. Existing furniture, meaningful objects and heirlooms can be considered as part of the new scheme. Brenda’s approach is to understand what you want to retain and integrate those pieces into a cohesive interior.

How does pricing work?

Fees are tailored to the scope of the project and discussed during the initial consultation. A detailed fee proposal follows that meeting, setting out the phases of work before you commit.

What is the difference between bespoke furniture and ready-made pieces?

Bespoke furniture is designed and made for your particular space and requirements. Dimensions, materials, finishes and details can be tailored to suit your home and the way you live, rather than selected from a fixed specification.

How involved will I need to be?

The process can accommodate different levels of involvement. Brenda keeps clients informed at key milestones and presents decisions clearly, whether you prefer close collaboration or need the team to manage more of the process around a busy schedule.

Can I enquire about a single room?

Yes. Soft&Co. welcomes projects ranging from a single-room refresh to a complete home, with the scope established around your needs.
